Moraine Valley Community College is reaching out to workers who have been affected by the adverse economic conditions with services designed to help them go back to work.
The Illinois workNet Center at Moraine Valley will offer “Information Sessions for the Unemployed” on Tuesday, July 21, and Monday, August 10. Both sessions will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. in the Fogelson Theater in Building T on campus, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills. Space is limited and reservations are required. The workNet Center also is open to job seekers who can use the resource room to access software for resume and job search assistance, job listings, information about occupations, and to view available federal, state, and local service programs. The center offers grant programs that provide services and retraining programs to help eligible dislocated workers re-enter the workforce. Unemployed workers can get information on other services such as Work Keys (WIN) Preparation and GED/ESL programs by calling the Adult Basic Education Department at (708) 974-5340; the Adult Learner Program by visiting morainevalley.edu/AdultSuccess; and financial aid for Moraine Valley classes by stopping in the Financial Aid Office, Building S, Room 115, or calling (708) 974-5726.
