Moraine Valley Community College is offering girls in sixth- through ninth-grade the opportunity to discover and experience non-traditional careers during the Girls Tech Summer Camp.
For four days girls will learn about computer animation, CAD rapid prototyping, nondestructive testing, manufacturing, electronics, and welding through hands-on activities led by professionals. The camp runs June 22-25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the college, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills. Lunch is provided. The program costs $20.
Space is limited, and applicants will be accepted on a first come, first serve basis. Students can register by calling (708) 974-2110 (TTY for hearing impaired 708-974-9556). Use course code PY4-499-001. If the child has previously registered for a Moraine Valley course, she can use online registration at morainevalley.edu.
