Moraine Valley Community College has offered several Veterans’ Information Sessions to help veterans prepare for a smooth transition from military life to its classrooms. The next free session will focus on starting a business and becoming an entrepreneur. It will be on Friday, June 12, from 9 to 11:30 a.m., in the Fogelson Theater, Building T, on campus, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills. This session is open to anyone and is co-sponsored by the Illinois Department of Employment Security. Refreshments will be served.
Participants will learn about writing a business plan, small business loans, how small businesses survive tough economic times, and the entrepreneur series offered by Moraine Valley. Admissions and financial aid information also will be available.
Once they are enrolled at Moraine Valley, veterans can find additional support from the Combat to College student club. The club’s mission is to inform veterans about current educational benefits, provide a strong network to achieve academic and career goals, and develop lifelong friendships.
