To facilitate economic growth, and job creation and retention, Moraine Valley Community College’s Workforce Development and Community Services is offering several classes to educate entrepreneurs and businesses on all facets of business ownership. Each topic can be customized to meet specific business needs.
WDCS has expanded its Business Basics for Entrepreneurs series to include basics of starting a business, accounting and bookkeeping, small business marketing, financial management, small business legal issues, writing a business plan, obtaining a small business loan in these difficult economic times, and managing cash flow.
Two new series have been added to help existing businesses succeed. A six-class series in sales, “Nothing Happens Until Somebody Sells Something,” which includes classes on why have a selling system, prospecting with a purpose, establishing a winning relationship, qualifying and disqualifying prospects, the four steps to presenting and closing a deal and improving your batting average. In addition, Web Marketing for Business is a four-class series that includes back to the basics, make your Web site work for you, social networking on the Web, and Web 2.0 the second generation of Web site design.
To keep business at the top of the game, four classes also are offered in customer service. Topics include dealing with difficult and irate customers, effective customer service communication, how to keep your customers, and motivating customer service professionals.
