The public is invited to a free program about the H1N1 virus hosted by Moraine Valley Community College and MetroSouth Medical Center. “H1N1: What you should know” will be presented at 7 p.m. November 17 in the Moraine Business and Conference Center (Building M) on the college campus, 9000 W. College Pkwy., Palos Hills.
Speakers will include Dr. Robert Fliegelman, chairperson of infectious disease at MetroSouth Medical Center, along with Dr. Mario Piverger, Dr. Miranda Huffman, Dr. Catherine Lindsay, Dr. Claudette Macklin, and Dr. Afsheen Karim. Topics covered will include how the virus is spread, prevention, treatment, comparison to seasonal flu virus, diagnosis, ¬common signs and symptoms, how businesses and schools are affected, and what we can do to prepare for a major outbreak.
