Application for Admission to Honors

Application for New Student at Moraine Valley
If you’ve completed the general Enrollment Application and you would like to enter the Honors Program, please complete this additional form. Feel free to turn in a hard copy application in person or by mail if you prefer.

Once we are able to verify that you meet the eligibility requirements for the program, you will receive a special form that will make it possible for you to enroll in available honors courses. Without verification that you meet the admission criteria, you will not be able to register for honors sections.

Admission Criteria
I meet the following two criteria for admission to the Honors Program:
	High school GPA of 3.2 (seventh semester)
	ACT score of 25 or SAT score of 1050
	I completed at least one AP course with a grade of A or B or an AP score of 4
	I am in the top 10 percent of my high school class
Other Requirements
	I understand that I need to have my official transcript sent from my high school, or that I need to bring it in person to Rita Kribs Coordinator, Honors Program Moraine Valley Community College Room B260 9000 W. College Pkwy. Palos Hills, IL 60465
	I understand that I need to provide a copy of my ACT or SAT score if I'm using that score as a criterion for admission to the program. My score is already recorded on my high school transcript. I have requested that a score report be sent to Moraine Valley.
	I understand that I need to provide my AP test score or course grade if I'm using that for admission to the program. The course and grade are already on my high school transcript. I have requested that a score report be sent to Moraine Valley.
	I understand that I need to provide my high school rank if I'm using that as a criterion for admission to the program. My rank is already listed on my high school transcript. I have requested that a rank report be sent to Moraine Valley.
Once it is verified that you are eligible for honors courses, you will receive a notice by mail/e-mail to pick up special permission forms for registration in honors sections during your orientation session. I already have an orientation date:
