The Moraine Valley Community College Respiratory Therapy Program is accredited by the Commission on Accreditation for Respiratory Care (CoARC).

Currently, 48 states require licensure of respiratory care practitioners. The standard in these states is successful completion of the Certification or Entry-Level Examination administered by the National Board for Respiratory Care (NBRC). Graduates of MVCC are eligible to take this exam immediately upon graduation and after completion may apply for their Illinois license and thereafter are eligible to take the Registry Examination consisting of the Advanced Practitioner exam and the Clinical Simulation exam, both administered by the NBRC.
