Children's Theater Classes
GREASE PAINT/MUSICAL THEATER WORKSHOP
The emphasis is on musical theater during this fun, song and dance class for kids, ages 8-15. Performance for parents.

THEATER CAMP
The Moraine Valley Community College Theater Camp provides students entering 10th, 11th and 12th grades with a week-long intensive course in scene-study and performance. Students participate in morning class sessions focusing on text analysis and performance techniques and participate in afternoon rehearsals of short scenes. The camp culminates in a public showcase of scenes on June 19th at 7:00pm in the Oremus Theater.

IMPROV FOR TEENS
This eight-week course will serve as an introduction to the fun and challenging art form of improvisational theater for the young "improvisers". Learn to tap into your imagination, think on your feet, have fun in group games and skits that teach you to trust your instincts and "go with the flow" and finally learn to relax and gain confidence in public presentations. Each week students will be introduced to new activities and adventures in the quirky world of humor and fantasy that is just under the surface of mundane reality through the unique perspective of the improv. Age 12 and up.

ACTING CAMP FOR CHILDREN
This high-energy program will allow children to fully engage their imagination as they experience the thrill of creating live theater. Kids will participate in a wide variety of theater activities - including scene study, storytelling, creative writing, mime, physical comedy and movement. Classes emphasize drama games and exercises designed to increase spontaneity, engage the imagination, promote self-confidence and encourage ensemble spirit. At the end of the six-week session, campers will share their work in a special performance. Ages 8 to 12 years old.

Children's Music Classes
KINDERMUSIK SUMMER CAMP: "ZOO TRAIN'
Parents and kids hop aboard the zoo train this summer with our 18 month to 3 year old child! We'll draw on the movements, sights and sounds of zoo animals to inspire musical experiences and the beginnings of imaginary play. Each of the 5 weekly sessions will include singing, moving, instrument exploration and play-along to music, zoo animals and sounds activities and story time. Parents learn many developmentally appropriate activities to do with children at home. Classes meet for one hour and include parent/caregiver for entire class. Home materials include CD, animal shaker instrument, poster and Zoo Train! book. A $35 materials fee is due to the instructor 1 week prior to the beginning of class.

CLASS VIOLIN FOR CHILDREN, BEGINNING
Students will learn basic fundamentals of violin playing and technique including knowledge of pitch, rhythm and reading music. Book required. Ages 7-15.

Piano for Children ages 7-15. Students will learn basic keyboard and music skills including knowledge of pitch, rhythm, and reading music. Book required. Students ages 7-10 register for MU4-115-170. Students ages 11-15 register for MU4-115-200.

PIANO FOR CHILDREN, BEGINNING II
Continuation of group piano lessons for children. Students will build on skills learned in Beginning Piano I. Emphasis is on new piano skills and reading music. Book required. Prerequisite: MU4-115 or permission of instructor. More advanced students are encouraged to sign-up for private lessons (MU4-321).
