What is your policy regarding children?
Everyone entering the theater must have a ticket issued regardless of age. Children under one year old will be issued a complimentary ticket. All other children (over a year of age) are considered students and are therefore charged the student price except for our Theater for Young Audiences Performances, which offers a child price.

Please use your discretion regarding your children, and their ability to sit through a performance. You may be asked to take your child out of a performance if they are causing a disturbance. Some shows may contain material which is not appropriate for young children, if you are unsure call the Box Office (708) 974-5500 and a representative will be glad to help you decide.

Can I choose my seat location?
Yes, you can request a seat and the ticket representative will do their best to honor that request. However, if you need wheel chair seating you must inform the representative when ordering the tickets, as there are only certain locations where a wheelchair can be seated.

Moraine Valley can provide a wheelchair if you need one, but all requests must be placed at least 24 hours in advance of the performance.

How can I reach someone who is attending a performance?
We do not have a paging system in our auditorium. If there is an emergency, please contact the Moraine Valley Police Department at (708) 974-5555.

Do you offer discounts for groups?
Yes, we offer discounts for groups of 20 or more.
Schools and Home Schools are given a special rate with no size requirement.

All groups will be given a payment plan which requires 50 percent of the payment 30 days after the reservation. The balance is due one week prior to the performance. At the time of reservation we require an estimate of group size. A final count is required when the balance is due.

To place a group reservation, please call the Box Office (708) 974-5500 and ask to speak to someone in Group Sales.

Do you serve food or drinks at the Fine and Performing Arts Center?
Concessions are sold at our concession stand during most show intermissions. However, food or drink is not allowed into the theater. Concessions are not offered at our Theater for Young Audiences performances because we do not have an intermission during these shows.

Do you offer exchanges or refunds?
Exchanges are limited and include a $2 fee per exchanged ticket. We do not give refunds, however you may return your tickets and we will issue a credit, (minus any service charges), which can be use for any future show. Donations are accepted for unused tickets. Exchanges and donations must be requested 24-hours prior to the performance. Call the Box Office at (708) 974-5500 for more information.

How long is the performance?
Every performance has a different running time. Most performances are about two hours in length, including intermission. Theater for Young Audiences shows are one hour for the pre-school through 4th grade shows and 90 minutes for the Jr. High through High School shows. Call the Box Office at (708) 974-5500 the week of a specific performance for the running time.

How can I become a volunteer at the Fine and Performing Arts Center?
We have a wonderful volunteer corps of over 60 ushers. Ushers are expected to arrive 45 minutes prior to show time and stay throughout the performance. Usher jobs include tearing tickets, handing out programs, showing people to their seats, working in the coatroom, and helping out in our concession stand during intermission. Ushers are given passes for volunteering. These passes may be exchanged for tickets to other Moraine Valley performances. Dress requirements include black pants or skirt, white shirt, and black comfortable shoes. We will provide a vest and flashlight. An usher orientation is conducted at the beginning of each season; all volunteers must attend this orientation.

In addition, we host a volunteer potluck holiday party and an end-of-the-year thank-you party for all of the ushers. Please call the Box Office (708) 974-5500 if you are interested in joining the Moraine Valley Volunteer Usher Corps.
