Welcome

Moraine Valley's College and Community Relations Department is a service-oriented department for faculty and staff. Our primary purpose is to ensure Moraine Valley maintains a positive image with its various constituents and to communicate messages as effectively as possible. We are responsible for promoting the college, as well as its many programs and services. The department works with local, regional, and national news media, including newspapers, network and cable television stations, radio stations, and specialized publications such as magazines and newsletters. The department also is responsible for Valley View, the twice-monthly staff newsletter; the electronic message boards near the campus entrances; the speakers bureau; promotional items; tours for school and community groups; permanent signage; institutional special events; and a variety of other communications-related items.

Mission
The mission of the College and Community Relations Department is to provide a quality, responsive communications program to staff, students, and the community.

To Accomplish This Mission, We Will:

• Provide quality communications support and services for all areas of the college.

• Accurately and honestly promote the image and awareness of the college in the community through a comprehensive news media relations program.

• Enhance and promote positive employee relations through a comprehensive, proactive employee communications program.

• Increase the awareness of the college through special events.
