Leadership Development Workshops
Learn more about yourself and grasp important skills through Student Life’s leadership development, retreats and workshops sponsored for leaders of student organizations, yet open to all students and faculty members.

The events are designed to enhance interpersonal and organizational skills such as team building, leadership and time management.

How to Recruit and Retain Members?

Dave Kelly is an energetic APAC member who teaches student leaders how to conduct fun and entertaining meetings, and how to recruit and retain members for their organization.

Do You Know Your Personality?

What role do you play on the team? Learn how your personal style influences your interactions, your decision making, and what “pushes your buttons.” Discover how to make your personality work for you.

Planning For the Future

This workshop is for students who are undecided about where they want to transfer or what they want to major in once they transfer. We will discuss searching for the right major and college so you can see why it’s better to have a goal than none at all. In preparation for Transfer Day, Friday, Oct. 22, we will help to generate some questions that you should be asking.

Making Money Work for You

Tired of making money just to give it to someone else? Come learn how to balance your money to make it work for your life instead of the other way around. Learn how to balance your checking account, reconcile bank statements, and plan a budget to keep you out of debt.

Motivation and Recognition

Motivation is the act of getting others to want to do what must be done and recognition is a simple and positive way to reinforce the actions and behaviors you want people to repeat. How can a leader motivate and recognize those around them? This workshop will address motivation and recognition and show through interactive means how to motivate and recognize others in a positive way.

Explore why understanding your purpose is important to having a successful future. Identify the importance of understanding the role of purpose in leadership. Learn how knowing your purpose can assist you with choosing a major, job or career. Discover ways to tap into your purpose regardless of your role or position.
