Services

Custodial: Eleven Moraine Valley custodians, supervised by the custodial supervisor, clean and maintain the college buildings throughout the day. An outside janitorial company is contracted for cleaning services during the evening and midnight hours. In addition to cleaning, custodial staff set up for in-house functions, activities and programs.

Grounds: Five groundskeepers, supervised by the Grounds supervisor, maintain the college grounds, including the athletic fields, perimeter roads and snow removal during the winter season. Groundskeepers post and repair campus traffic signs and continuously monitor the college grounds for litter and debris. One vehicle technician maintains a 23-vehicle fleet, in addition to various mowers, tractors, trailers, and sprayers.

Office:  The office staff includes the director of Campus Operations, a full-time secretary and part-time departmental assistant. You can call the office staff at (708) 974-5724 from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for any physical needs. After 4:30 p.m., personnel from the Police Department page our Campus Operations staff for minor problems that arise during evening campus hours.

Maintenance: Nine maintenance mechanics, supervised by the maintenance supervisor, maintain the college's electrical, plumbing, heating, cooling, ventilation, and state-of-the-art energy management systems 24 hours a day.

Building Maintenance: Two maintenance mechanics perform door and hardware repair, ceiling tile replacement, furniture repair, hanging of internal college signs, as well as repairing locks, providing staff keys and maintaining a computerized key inventory. One painter performs the college painting and furniture touch-up.

Bids and Contracts: Bids for contract services, including exterminating, elevator service, handicap door repair, fire alarm testing and inspections, boiler treatments, filter changing, and refuse pickup are generated by the director of Campus Operations and awarded through the Purchasing Office.
