The Department of Campus Operations at Moraine
Valley Community College is a service-oriented department for students, faculty,
staff, and the community. Our primary purpose is to promote an atmosphere of
physical excellence by maintaining quality surroundings, both inside and
outside, in comfort and appearance. We provide all physical services to ensure a
clean and comfortable environment.
We look forward to and encourage campus and facility tours.
The mission of the Department of Campus
Operations is to support and promote Moraine Valley Community College by
maintaining an environment of physical excellence in the classroom and
throughout the college.
To accomplish this mission, we will:
- Create safe, clean and pleasant outside
surroundings by maintaining the landscape, athletic fields, perimeter roads,
and walkways.
- Ensure the efficient operation of all
college utility systems, including electrical, plumbing, heating, and
cooling, creating well-ventilated, climate-controlled classrooms, student
lounges and staff offices.
- Follow established work routines and
housekeeping schedules to provide a safe, clean and healthy inside
environment.
- Strive to achieve a team effort to provide a
quality educational environment while conserving energy.
- Set up for meetings and workshops in a
manner that is comfortable and conducive to learning and productivity.
- Provide skilled work related to the
application of paint and protective coatings to building interiors and
exteriors.
