About Us--Meet the Staff

Sylvia Jenkins
Sylvia Jenkins, dean, Academic Development and Learning Resources, is director of the center. An employee of Moraine Valley since 1986, Sylvia previously served as department chair of the Library/Learning Resources Center. Named Master Teacher of the Year in 1991 and 1998, Jenkins earned her M.L.S. degree from SUNY-Albany, and has been librarian and director of Library Services at Virginia Union University. Norma Grassini-Komara

Norma joined the center in March 2002 as the instructional designer. Norma's primary responsibility in the CTL is to work with faculty in designing instructional materials in both traditional and nontraditional formats. Since joining the college, Norma has worked with many faculty in either a workshop setting or on an individual basis. Norma can be reached at ext. 5502 or komara@morainevalley.edu


Misha Turner

Misha, Director of Learning Opportunities and Academic Success, joined the center in May 2002 as the student services specialist. Misha, who completed an internship with Dr. Vernon O. Crawley and the Executive Leadership Team of Moraine Valley in 2002, received her doctorate from the University of Texas in its Community College Leadership Program. Misha's primary responsibility is to develop and promote professional and personal development opportunities to ensure academic and student success.  Misha can be reached at ext. 5207 or turnerm@morainevalley.edu.


Kristine M. Christensen

Kristine, an associate professor and director of the Faculty Development Committee, is working with the center staff on developing the professional development program for the faculty. Kristine's primary responsibility is to chair the faculty development committee, which consists of faculty representatives from all the academic and student development subdivisions. This committee is responsible for approving faculty travel requests and professional growth units. The committee also manages the process of selecting the master teacher and professor of the year. Kristine can be reached at ext. 5512 or christensen@morainevalley.edu.

Lisa Lezon

 

 

 


Lola Oshinowo
Lola Oshinowo, an employee of Moraine Valley since 1994, joined the center in 2008 as the director of Technology Training and Staff Development.

Her primary responsibility in the CTL is working with the Staff Development Advisory committee to provide technology training and professional development to staff. Lola previously served as manager, staff and technology training in Human Resources from July 2007 to April 2008. Prior to that, Lola Served as IT director, Applications Development and Applications Development manager in the Information Technology Department for approximately 13 years. Lola earned a masters degree in Instructional Technology from National University San Diego, A bachelor’s degree in Computer Management from Franklin University, Columbus, Ohio, and a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from University of East London, in England. Lola also worked as lead programmer analyst and Information Systems manager at The Ohio state University, Texas Christian University and Devry University. Tracey A. Stuckey-Mickell
Tracey A. Stuckey-Mickell, M.S.Ed., joined the center in June 2008. She has more than nine years of teaching experience in higher education settings and experience in faculty development/training and higher education administration. Her areas of knowledge include instructional & learning strategies, academic success, technology integration, and online learning. Tracey’s role is to collaborate with faculty and staff to support student and faculty success with nontraditional instructional delivery formats, such as online courses and telecourses. Tracey is eager to work with you, so please do call or stop by to share your ideas about how to improve teaching and learning in nontraditional delivery methods!
