Tutoring Guidelines

Tutoring is available to students who request it. However, the following guidelines must be maintained.

Tutors will:

• Give assistance with course material
• Provide more immediate feedback than an instructor may be able to provide
• Stress concepts and relationships
• Help students become more aware of how they learn best
• Alert CDS or Academic Skills Center staff about situations in which tutoring is not accomplishing the desired results.

Tutors won't:

• Do assignments for students
• Ask favors of instructors for students
• Substitute for academic advisors
• Tolerate personality conflicts
