Note-takers
Some students have disabilities
that warrant a note-taker. However, certain guidelines must be followed.
Note-takers will:
- Use a note-taking pad or their own notes to
make a copy for students with disabilities
- Attend class on time and be prepared to take
notes
Note-takers won't:
- Wait for students outside of class even if
students request this
- Be responsible for ensuring that students with
disabilities complete assignments properly or on time
- Answer questions about course content or
assignments when these questions would be better directed to the instructor
- Take notes for students when they are not
present, except for specific arrangements due to health conditions
Students will:
- Be responsible for acquiring note-taking
pads from the Center for Disability Services for use by their note-taker
- Arrive in class early enough to supply the
note-taker with materials
- Read over their notes to check for
assignments and important dates
- Ask the note-taker about anything in the
notes that is not clear
