I have had a chance to think about all the possibilities that technology and graphic arts have to offer. And wow, these possibilities are endless! It’s as though everything I say or do is impacted by technology. It’s so amazing how I've been able to construct new opportunities for my future. When I think of where technology could go, I think of how great it is to grow up with it. I am interested in graphic arts and web design. I have big plans for the summer. I want to take Adobe classes because Adobe is compatible with most other programs. I am also interested in AutoCAD classes. AutoCAD seems so amazing. It’s made by Autodesk, the same company that makes the Maya 3D modeling software, which I’m working with right now. I am glad to have had this opportunity to be part of the Women in Technology Mentoring Program. I really could use a mentor. Until now, I've been trying a little of everything as I have an opportunity, but I could really use some help and direction.

Cathy Sullivan
I have been working for construction/ engineering/ design-build/ architectural/ mechanical companies for over 20 years. Three of the large companies I worked for closed their offices. I have worked as a Project Manager's Assistant in almost every one of my jobs. For instance, when I was on projects, whether in an office or in the field, I helped with sales, estimating, billing, subcontracts, change orders, certificates of insurance, and other miscellaneous functions. I have in the past been taught by engineers to work in AutoCAD 13 & Microstation 5.0 for electrical and some mechanical drawings. On an AT&T project for wireless communications, I worked as an Engineering Tech and helped direct utility companies to the monopole sites that they were told to work on. After being laid-off from my last employment I decided to take classes in AutoCAD 2010 to further my education and to get out of the admin role. I’m presently taking classes at Moraine Valley Community College. Contact me at sullivanc92@student.morainevalley.edu.
