Moraine Valley Gateway
The Gateway, coupled
with the Moraine Green to the north and the Gateway Promenade to the south,
creates a welcoming atmosphere with both physical form, as defined by its edges,
and character, as designed by landscape and pattern.
The area
which also serves as an outdoor theater and event area features:

new
sidewalks that provide direct connections to buildings

four-season
interest with gardens that feature seating areas, natural grasses,
and perennial beds, along with multi-functioning shaded spaces for
eating, studying and congregating

native and
non-native plantings for botany and biology class studies
Construction of
the Gateway and surrounding areas was completed as part of the capital
bond referendum approved by voters in 2006.
