Dear Neighbor, As thrilled as I was to announce the opening of the Moraine Valley Education Center at Blue Island, I am now equally as thrilled to be able to report on the center’s successes! For starters, the numbers tell a convincing story. Enrollment has been averaging approximately 700 students per semester. That equates to thousands of students who have taken advantage of the opportunity to obtain an excellent education at a location convenient for them. Secondly, you tell us. We have received many favorable comments from our students as well as numerous accolades from community members. This feedback has been quite informative and lets us know that you are happy we are here! Thank you for the input and suggestions. Be sure to know that we are taking them all into account as we continue to plan for the future. As our student population grows, so too do our services. Students can use our computers to register for classes, order textbooks online and have them delivered to the Blue Island facility, and obtain their student identification cards on site during the first few weeks of each semester. In addition, our student support specialist is available to help students with any questions they may have about registration, classes, financial aid or more. Remember that the Moraine Valley Education Center at Blue Island is in your neighborhood. Plenty of parking is available and public transportation is easily accessible. We provide the same quality education on our beautiful campus in Palos Hills and at our other extension sites, including Eisenhower High School in Blue Island and the Southeast CEDA Center in Robbins. And we’ve put together a schedule that can work with your busy lifestyle by offering daytime, evening and Saturday classes. I invite you to come visit us at your convenience.
