Sustainability Day Activities on
Wednesday
10 a.m.—Help form the number 350
Colleges, universities and organized groups
will be focusing on the number 350 next
week. Why 350? This is the maximum number of
parts per million (ppm) of carbon dioxide
(CO2) that scientist have determined will
allow ecosystems on the earth to function
efficiently and in a healthy manner. The
earth registers at 390 ppm of CO2. As part
of Campus Sustainability Day, Wednesday at
10 a.m., Moraine Valley students, faculty
and staff are invited to participate in
making a human number 350 on the Moraine
Green, near the Gateway. Glenn Carpenter,
Moraine's photographer, will take a photo
and it will be posted on the 350.org website
along with others from around the world.

Evil Dead: The Musical
Thursday-Saturday, Nov.
5-7, 7:30 p.m.
Sunday, Nov. 8, 3 p.m.
Dorothy Menker Theater in the Fine and Performing Arts
Center
Tickets are $12 for adults, $10 for seniors
and students
Based on Sam Raimi's 1980s cult classic
films. "Evil Dead" tells the tale of five
college friends who travel to a cabin in the
woods and accidentally unleash an evil
force. Although it may sound like a horror,
it's not! The songs are hilariously campy,
and the show is bursting with more farce
than a Monty Python skit. As musical mayhem
descends upon this sleepover in the woods,
"camp" takes on a whole new meaning with
uproarious numbers like "All the Men in My
Life Keep Getting Killed by Candarian
Demons," Look Who's Evil Now," and "Do the
Necronomicon."

SHERMAN STEWART, PRESIDENT OF DANCE INSPIRED
BY LATIN EXPERIENCE (DILE)
Props to Sherman Stewart, of
Oak Lawn, president of a newly chartered
club at Moraine Valley—Dance
Inspired by Latin Experience (DILE).
Stewart, who also is a member of the 24K
Dance Team, wanted to help create the club
to spread more culture. Of Haitian, Puerto
Rican and Cuban descent, he wanted people to
know that Latino is more than Hispanic.
Stewart is a part-time student and works at
Abercrombie in Orland Mall. He is studying
dance and fashion retail/management. He also
will be starting to teach dance lessons
soon. DILE meets on Tuesdays and Thursdays,
5-6 p.m., in U117, the game room in the
