Thanksgiving holiday break
Moraine Valley will be closed Wednesday through Nov. 29 for the Thanksgiving holiday. Spring semester registration and orientation begin, Monday, Nov. 30.

Study Biology on the Coral Reef
A field biology course—Bio 220, emphasizing marine biology, is being offered in June, and includes an adventure to Belize, an exotic country in Central America with the world's second largest barrier reef. Snorkel diverse coral reefs, track exotic fish, corals and all sorts of different creatures, journey to island field stations and protected marine reserves, see jaguars in a tropical rain forest, enjoy Caribbean cuisine, and meet local Belizeans. The course will be held on campus June 14-18 and 30, and July 7, and in Belize June 21-27. Art Gallery exhibit
Moraine Valley Faculty Exhibit

Through Dec. 17
Fourteen faculty members will reveal new work featuring an exciting and challenging mix of styles, media and subject matter. The gallery is open from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday as well as during most performances in the Fine and Performing Arts Center.

What is the Muslin holiday Eid
(Eid al-Adha)? A short presentation about the significance of the holiday and some Middle Eastern sweets then have your name printed in Arabic calligraphy to take home.

Doctor to discuss global pandemics
Wednesday, Dec. 2, 3:30-4:30 p.m. Fogelson Theater
Dr. Michael David, of the University of Chicago Department of Medicine's Section of Infectious Disease, will speak on global pandemics.

JAE WON LEE, SCHOLARSHIP RECIPIENT
 

Jae Won Lee, of Palos Hills,

recently was awarded the Center for Teaching and Learning Student Worker Scholarship.

Lee has been at Moraine Valley since 2007 and has been a student aide in the CTL since July 2008. Lee came to the United States from Korea in 2005. He attended a technical high school and has a background as a mechanical engineer. He is studying business and plans on graduating in the spring then transferring to DePaul where he will continue studying business and marketing. His goal is to open his own business. Lee is also a member of the Finance Club and Phi Theta Kappa.
