KEVIN DALY AND MATT LOVELACE, GOLFERS GOING
TO NATIONALS
Props to golfers Kevin Daly (right), of Oak
Forest, and
Matt Lovelace, of Willow Springs, who both
finished their first year on the Moraine
Valley golf team as qualifiers
for the NJCAA Division II championship in
May in Phoenix, Arizona. Daly shot a 79, 78
and 76 to earn a third place individual
finish while Lovelace swung a 77, 79 and 80
to place seventh at the NJCAA Division II,
Region IV Tournament October 8-10. Daly has
been golfing for 13 years, since he was 7.
He was on the Oak Forest High School golf
team where he was named all-conference
twice, a sectional qualifier twice, and
all-regional his senior year. Lovelace has been golfing for eight years,
since he was 19 when his first boss
introduced him to the game. A carpenter by
trade, Lovelace said he is taking classes at
Moraine to find a more lucrative career.
"They said there was no age limit for the
golf team so I decided to try out," he said. |
