Gloria Coughlin returns to the Cyclones for the 2009 season. Coughlin has been head coach of Moraine Valley's women's volleyball team for 18 years (1989-2009), with a three year hiatus to watch her three daughters play Division I collegiate volleyball. While at the helm she posted a 383-261 career record. She also coached the college's former men's volleyball team for four years (1997-2000), compiling a 58-12 record and leading the team to Midwest Collegiate Volleyball Association league championships in 1998 and 1999. Coughlin, athlete success coordinator at Moraine Valley, is a former coach at the Celtic Force Volleyball Club (2000-2008), and former head coach of the Marian Catholic High School boy's volleyball team (2000-2005). She was inducted into both the Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference and NJCAA Region IV Hall of Fame in 2007 and has been a three-time Coach of the Year. Coughlin, who played volleyball at Michigan State University, has a bachelor's degree from Governors State University.
Zidek has served as assistant coach for six years. She also coaches for the Celtic Force Volleyball Club, where she is a two-time national champion coach, and is the former director and head coach of the Windy City Volleyball Club. Zidek played volleyball and was First Team All-American at the University of St. Francis. She was inducted into the Hall of Fame at both the University of St. Francis and Queen of Peace High School. |
