Women's Soccer—Coaches
Jim Knawa, now in his fourth season at
the helm of Moraine Valley's women's soccer, has been actively involved in coaching various
youth sports in several capacities since 1980. He began coaching soccer on a
recreational basis in 1990 and has been associated with high school competitive
teams in their off-seasons, as well as being involved in several youth athletic
boards and councils.
Stevan Jionas
Assistant Coach
Jionas brings his 30 years of playing soccer and 25 years of coaching experience to the coaching team this season,
and he holds a Class A coaching license. Before joining Moraine Valley, Jionas
was a head coach for the Magic Soccer Club and assistant coach for the
Mother McAuley High School girl's soccer team and Brother Rice High School boy's
soccer team.
Betsy Knawa
Volunteer Assistant Coach
Knawa is in her third season coaching
Moraine Valley women's soccer. Knawa was a four-year
starter at Augustana College where she holds the school record with 34 career
shutouts as a goalkeeper, earned All-Conference for two years, was a co-captain, and
has a career goals-against average under 1.0. |
