Bill Finn is the first-ever head coach of Moraine Valley's men's tennis team, and 2010 will be his sixth season. He coached the 2009 team to an 21st place finish in the national tournament. He has been named Region IV and Illinois Skyway Collegiate Conference coach of the year for several consecutive seasons. Finn also coaches the Cyclones women's tennis team in the fall. Finn, also in his 26th year as Moraine Valley's athletics director, was the college's men's basketball coach until his retirement from basketball after the 2003-04 season. During his 22-year tenure, he accumulated a 506-210 career record and tallied twenty 20-plus win seasons. He also led his teams to the NJCAA Division II national tournament four times, finishing in the final four in 1990 and 1999 and in the elite eight in 2001 and 2002. Finn has a bachelor's degree from Loras College (Iowa) and a master's degree from Chicago State University. |
